The Port Penn Interpretive Center gives you an intimate glimpse into village life in a seasonal economy tied to the resources of the Delaware River. Explore this old school house that has been converted into a museum and learn about the history of the town.
The Port Penn Interpretive Center was a schoolhouse from 1886 to 1961 and now features items donated by residents of the community. Save some time to tour the surrounding wetland via the Wetlands Trail, which features migratory wading birds in summer months, a floating fishing cabin, and other natural sights and sounds.

There is a dedicated parking lot for the Port Penn Interpretive Center.
Hours:
Unfortunately, the Center will not open this summer (2023) due to structural damage and safety concerns. The DNREC Division of Parks and Recreation is evaluating options to repair the historic structure. The center is typically open on weekends and holidays during the summer.
