Bowers Beach

About Bowers Beach

As the St. Jones River and the Murderkill River both meander their way to the Delaware Bay, nestled between them you’ll find Bowers Beach. Once one of the premier fishing towns on the Delaware Bay, this town will endear itself to you as you fish and swim, bird watch, kayak and sail, paint, and to stroll the beaches enjoying the wildlife.

Along the shoreline you will be provided with glimpses of bald eagles, blue herons, osprey, and other shorebirds.

At the Bowers Maritime Museum on Main Street, you’ll step back in time to experience the long history of Bowers Beach.  If you are lucky enough to be in town for their annual Big Thursday festival, you can experience a local tradition replete with rides, crafts, and a parade.

Bowers Beach and the Bowers Maritime Museum is also famous for its annual Buccaneer Bash – which takes place over Memorial Day weekend each year. Attendees sport pirate costumes – you will find it fun for all ages.
