The Amstel House is one of the few surviving authentic colonial 1730’s mansions of New Castle. The home was owned by one of the wealthiest local men of the era, Dr. John Finney. The home’s fine architectural details and garden will show you how the upper class lived in colonial times.
Explore furnishings, brick, and woodwork representative of the 18th century, including the large open hearth. Learn about the way of life for the city’s elite through authentic artifacts and family possessions from the owner and neighboring New Castle colonial residents.
