Beach Plum Island Nature Preserve

Bowers Beach Maritime Museum

First State Heritage Park

Delaware’s first urban park. The park is surrounded by historic buildings and cultural sites, and features live events, reenactments, and local tours.

Old State House

Delaware’s first permanent capitol building completed in 1791 on Dover’s historic Green. Tours are available to learn about its architecture and history.

Port Penn Wetlands Trail

The trail includes a boardwalk and an actual “Floating Fishing Cabin,” used by fishermen of Port Penn in the recent past. 

Stewart Cemetery

Explore this small, family cemetery dating from the late 1700’s. You’ll see the final resting place of many of Port Penn’s founding families.

Woodburn House & Gardens

The official residence of the Governor of Delaware since it was purchased by the state in 1965. Offers tours of the Georgian home and gardens.
