The Milton Historical Society was founded in 1970 when the town recognized the importance of preserving the history of Milton and the Broadkill Hundred.
If you like historic buildings, you’ll enjoy the museum’s architecture – it is located in a former Methodist Church that was originally built in 1857. Lydia Black Cannon, a resident of Milton, purchased the building and donated it to the MHS to house its growing collection. You’ll spot many interesting artifacts from the 1600’s through the present that contributed to life in Milton.
