Originally a Dutch Reformed Church for Calvinist worship, this 1707 church and meeting house is now an operational Presbyterian Church in the heart of Old New Castle.
The first Calvinish congregation formed in New Castle in 1651 and was taken over by British colonists and converted to the Presbyterian faith in 1657. The structure that now houses worshippers was erected as the first Presbyterian church in Delaware, and remains in authentic restored condition to this day.
Today, the site is used in active worship as well as for community events. The Church grounds also contain a cemetery and memorial garden. Any Church facilities are able to be reserved, see the policy page of the official website for details.
You can find information about church decorum and practices on the Church’s visitor info page. For events outside of worship, check the calendar of events and busy times to better plan your visit.
